Our therapists offer a variety of options to treat a wide range of mental health issues.
One of the core traditional tools to treat mental illness, we provide a tailored treatment plan to meet your individual needs.
IOPs are ideal for patients who require more support than traditional psychotherapy but don’t require hospitalization.
Addiction is more than a physical dependence. We’ll find the right treatment plan tailored to your addiction and individual needs.
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a new and exciting treatment for depression. It works by stimulating nerve cells in the brain to help restore normal function.
Ketamine therapy is another major advancement in psychiatry. It works differently from traditional antidepressants, often yielding results more quickly than traditional therapies.
A new procedure utilizing an injection to target the main nerve responsible for the “fight or flight” syndrome. This prevents the panic spiral that occurs during PTSD for patients.
Oregon has created a pathway for the legal use in psilocybin in psychiatry. As soon as a formal plan is created by the state, we will offer this to patients. Psilocybin has the potential to become a powerful tool in treating mood and trauma disorders, and this will likely be an important addition to our treatment options.
At NorthStar, our patient-first approach inspires us to provide a variety of treatment options to address the mental needs of our patients.
As a truly breakthrough therapy that is revolutionizing mental health, TMS plays an important role in our caring, holistic approach to psychiatry to treat a variety of mental health issues such as:
TMS is an FDA-cleared, non-drug, non-invasive way to treat depression with no systemic side effects
Approximately 45% of patients with major depression are believed to have treatment-resistant depression (TRD). These patients fail to alleviate their symptoms after at least two trials of antidepressants. When antidepressants fail to provide relief, TMS can provide a non-invasive, non-medication alternative treatment for depression.
TMS uses gentle magnetic pulses to re-activate the parts of the brain responsible for depression. With our convenient center locations and hours, we make sure you’re able to fit TMS Therapy into your schedule.
TMS is much more patient-friendly in that it does not require sedation, patients can drive themselves to and from therapy, and there is little or no discomfort for most patients. This is a great new alternative for patients who have not seen success from antidepressants either due to side effects or lack of results.
We are seeing outstanding results for patients with this therapy. One of the many benefits of TMS therapy comes from the fact that it is not a medication. Since we are working on the electrical area of the brain there are none of the side effects that are common among antidepressants. The only commonly reported side effect is irritation at the treatment site during the first few days of therapy.
Dr. Williams is by far the best psychiatrist I’ve had. His staff has been super helpful and usually available or get back to you in a timely manner. I am definitely going to be a patient of Dr. Williams until he decides to retire.
